Sasha Waltz & Guests

The Sasha Waltz & Guests dance company was founded in Berlin in 1993 by Sasha Waltz and Jochen Sandig and celebrated its 30th anniversary in 2023. To date, numerous artists and ensembles from the fields of architecture, visual arts, choreography, film, design, literature, fashion, and music—hailing from more than 60 countries—have participated as “Guests” in over 100 productions, “Dialogues” projects, and films.

Sasha Waltz & Guests operates within an international and national, constantly evolving network of production and touring partners and, since its founding, has performed at over 300 international venues and festivals in more than 50 countries and 180 cities. From its current repertoire of 12 active productions, the company presents approximately 80 performances per year.

In Berlin, the company collaborates with a wide range of institutions, including municipal theaters, opera houses, and museums, and has contributed to the founding of new cultural institutions (Sophiensæle in 1996, St. Elisabeth Church in 2004, and Radialsystem in 2006). In 2013, the company was named a “Cultural Ambassador of the European Union.” In 2014, the Performing Arts Fund honored Sasha Waltz & Guests with the “George Tabori Honorary Award.”
