Cristina Morganti

Cristiana Morganti earned her degree in classical dance from the Accademia Nazionale di Danza in Rome and in modern dance from the Folkwang University of the Arts in Essen. She subsequently worked with a number of established choreographers, including Susanne Linke, Urs Dietrich, Felix Rückert, and Joachim Schlömer. From 1989 to 1992, she was a member of the “Neuer Tanz” company led by VA Wölfl and Wanda Golonka. From 1993 to 2014, she was a soloist with the “Tanztheater Wuppertal Pina Bausch.” In 2010, she began her career as a choreographer and has since presented her creations on stages and at festivals around the world.

 

She creates choreographies for “CCN/Aterballetto,” the “Conservatoire National Supérieur” in Paris, and the “Junior Company of the Dimitri Academy of Physical Theatre” in Switzerland. She collaborates regularly with the Pina Bausch Foundation and is currently an associate artist of the Teatri di Pistoia (IT). Morganti has been honored with the “Positano Leonide Massine Prize” (2011), the “Italian Critic Award Danza & Danza” (2014), and, as best performer in 2020, the prestigious French “Prix du Syndicat Professionnel de la Critique.” In 2022, she received the Italian “Premio ANCT (Associazione Nazionale Critici Teatrali)” award for her artistic career.
