Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui is a globally acclaimed artist on the international dance scene. What sets him apart above all is his cosmopolitan aesthetic. With his often interdisciplinary and cross-genre works, he has had a lasting impact on the dance scene for nearly two decades. Since the 2022–23 season, he has served as artistic director of the company at the “Grand Théâtre de Genève.” In addition to numerous awards—including three “Choreographer of the Year” honors from the trade magazine “Tanz” and two “Olivier Awards”—he has been nominated for a “Tony Award” for Best Choreography on Broadway for the musical “Jagged Little Pill,” among other accolades.
